FiT proposed an Ocean Freight solution to UNICEF Somalia with which not only all the initial order of 300 MT of RUTF could be shipped EXW Nairobi within  budget, but also an additional  19 ctrs. with mosquito nets could be forwarded from Mombasa to Mogadishu.

Unicef Somalia had procured 300MT RUTF from producer in Nairobi Kenya which urgently needed to reach Mogadishu.  Due to urgency primary forwarder suggested an air charter solution from NBO to MGQ. Due to budget constraints with this solution only 200 MT could have been forwarded within the financial means.  Not only was the cost of the charter flight solution 3 x as high as the Ocean freight solution, In addition air chartering to Mogadishu (MGQ) would also have borne the risk of high storage charges due to delays with release from MGQ airport.

Fit loaded 14 containers at supplier in Nairobi within 2days and all containers made it on the vessel that sailed only 5 days after receiving the confirmation of the movement.
