The COVID-19 pandemic has brought immense stress to the logistics industry, particularly with regards to the fast and efficient delivery of crucial medical supplies and vaccines. During the recent shipment of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines in Rwanda, Freight in Time faced logistical complexities (such as cold-chain management, transportation and vaccine stock monitoring); and a lack of coordination of government stakeholders and donors. The shipment involved crucial organizations such as the Rwanda Biomedical Center, the Ministry of Health, the Rwanda Airport Company, Customs, and the Rwanda National Police, which required seamless cross-communication to clear and deliver the vaccines in a timely manner. The urgency of the shipment required a collaborative effort from all parties to ensure a successful delivery. To overcome these challenges, Freight in Time partnered with the Rwanda Biomedical Center to bring all stakeholders together and deliver the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines to the RBC warehouses using our skilled personnel and expertise in cold chain management and transportation as cleared by Freight in Time. The successful delivery was a result of the coordinated efforts of all parties involved and their unwavering commitment to timely delivery, making this project unique in its approach to tackle multiple stakeholder coordination in logistical delivery.
