Import of 100 tons of timber for telecommunication project in Tanzania

FiT delivered 100 tons of timber poles to the remote Ruvuma region in Tanzania, despite adverse weather conditions in the rainy season.

The South African supplier of the pressure treated utility poles had won a contract from the Tanzanian Electric Supply Company Ltd. to supply the timber poles to the remote Ruvuma region.

FiT managed the delivery to several delivery locations within a very tight deadline within only 5 days despite the deliveries taking place in the rainy season. FiTs staff was present at the port during offloading for 24hrs and was able to clear the poles from port and customs without delays.

The poles were loaded on modified trucks with side support for delivery to several destinations in Ruvuma. Due to accurate truck routing and mobilization of labor at every delivery site FiT successfully accomplished the deliveries within the deadline.
