Vuka Commondale Treated Timber/ Tanesco

Vuka is a leading manufacturer & direct supplier of impregnated wooden poles. Poles are treated and used as utility poles, electrical transmission poles, telephone poles etc. It is based in South Africa and by the time knew very little about Tanzania, they required an experienced agent to receive, customs clear and deliver these to Tanesco (Tanzania’s distributor of electric power to the country).

FiT – TZ – led by the commercial manager Mr. Victor Maina came through and successfully cleared and delivered 17×40’ with poles – total of 351,110 MT poles to Tanesco, Ruvuma sites in Songea- TZ. The poles were in 9mts medium, 12mts medium and 12mts stout, that were stuffed into different containers and each needed special handling and that’s where our expertise came in handy. Being a rainy season, the team had to work out on the best route possible, to cover 1080kms from Dar Es Salaam to Songea.

All the 1,963 poles were delivered intact- Congratulations to all involved.
