IOR import, Pharma-grade GDP warehousing and local Distribution for global Pharma Company

FiT is importing pharmaceutical products of one of the major global pharmaceutical manufacturers as Importer of Record (IOR) into Tanzania and set up a dedicated pharma-grade GDP warehouse incl. cold stores from where FiT delivers the pharmaceuticals to distributors country wide.

The pharma company is working with several local distributors and wanted to manage their supply chain more efficiently but without having to register and set up their own distribution center.

FiT obtained the necessary approvals from the authorities in Tanzania to allow the import of regulated pharmaceuticals as IOR after a rigorous vetting process.

FiT established a Pharma-grade GDP warehouse with various temperature regimes in Dar Es Salaam and hired a qualified pharmacist to oversee the facility and implemented a WMS that fully integrates with the supplier’s IT system and affords them real time stock visibility. FiT even added 26 staff onto their payroll for the client and is managing the local deliveries and invoicing on behalf of the client.
